How these statistics were selected.

This page uses figures reported in the Global E-waste Monitor 2024, prepared by the International Telecommunication Union and UNITAR. It reports the most recent worldwide dataset available in that monitor, which covers 2022, plus its published 2030 projection. The health context is supported by the World Health Organization’s October 2024 e-waste fact sheet.
